SC Research Study Needs Your Help

Hey everyone,

There is a new study being done at University of Maryland, Baltimore that require a daily diary/journal of your experiences with sickle cell. Participants must be between ages 18-35. They are looking for 20 more participants, and you do not have to live in the Baltimore area, but will need internet access.

I am encouraging everyone to sign up, so that we can do our part to provide knowledge and evidence based research for sickle cell.

The Laboratory for the Social & Psychological Study of Sickle Cell Disease isconducting a study to help doctors and researchers across the United Statesbetter understand some of the daily experiences of young adults living withsickle cell disease.By understanding how sickle cell affects different aspects of your daily life – likeyour experience of pain, your use of health care services, and your experiencesof different emotions – researchers and health care professionals can begin todevelop comprehensive programs and services for adults that address thewhole person.

We are seeking young adults between the ages of 18 and 35 living with sicklecell disease to complete a brief daily diary of their experiences.

The daily diarywill be administered through a secure website once a day for three weeks. All of the research is confidential and voluntary. Participants will receive a payment of up to $90 for completing diaries for three weeks. If you are interested in participating in the study, email us at: dailydiarystudy2011@gmail.com or call us Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday between 9am and 5pm Eastern time at410-455-1359.
