Is Sickle Cell Warriors, Inc. a charitable organization?

As a charitable nonprofit organization, SCW is able to accept all manner of donations.

How do I send the funds to SCW?

We can gratefully receive funds via electronic wire transfers, deposits to Chase bank, Zelle, checks, or via PayPal. Sickle Cell Warriors, Inc. is also a part of the Amazon Giving program. If you are interested in that, we are able to share our codes with you directly.

What if I want my donation to benefit a specific SCW program?

If you would like for your donation to help a specific Sickle Cell Warriors program, we are able to specify donations for specific categories and uses upon request. Our programs include the Needy Warrior Grant (to help out patients in need), International Medical Aid and Medicine Disbursement Program (predominantly in Africa), educational scholarships for sickle cell disease patients, and supporting sickle cell patient advocacy efforts.

Our core missions are built on four main pillars, one of which is Education.

Education is a preemptive tool to reduce the population of sickle cell disease in the next generation. Education also drastically reduces the negative stigmas associated with sickle cell, thereby promoting support for those with the disease.

Education ensures that those with sickle cell disease live longer, pain-free, healthier lives. We have several programs and initiatives that your donation will support.

Do you have a memorial gifting program?

Yes, Sickle Cell Warriors, Inc. has a memorial gifting program where your family member or friend will be publicly honored and memorialized with other warriors who have ended their earthly journey. We are able to share pictures and videos on our Facebook page, life stories and photos on our website, and will provide a remembrance during our annual Patient & Family conference.

What if I want to start my own fundraiser for Sickle Cell Warriors, Inc.?

We would love for you to set up your own fundraiser and can have a staff member help walk you through setting up a Facebook fundraiser for you to share with your friends.

My job has a charitable match on employee donations, does Sickle Cell Warriors, Inc. participate in those programs?

Yes, Sickle Cell Warriors, Inc. participates in employee match programs. We work closely with your company to adhere to any of their required guidelines. In order to participate in these programs, we ask that you reach out to obtain the fundraising program requirements from your company. The best place to start is to reach out to your HR, finance, or charity department as they often have documents which detail all of the employer-match steps to employees. Once you have obtained the forms, please reach out to Sickle Cell Warriors, Inc. finance department.
