August 20, 2010: This Week in SC Research

Once again, it’s a slow research week. The only thing to report from last week is the following:

AesRx is developing a pill form of Aes-103, a small molecule pill that could reduce the number of red blood cells that can sickle. The company plans to begin human clinical trials in 2011. I couldn’t find much info on it since it’s still very ‘hush-hush’, but I’m sure once they start looking for trial participants more information will be available.

Read more about it HERE.
