Please join us on June 19 for a worldwide Facebook Live Event in honor of World Sickle Cell Day. The event will feature a panel of global experts and advocates appearing live from Region Europe, LACan, EGM and the US who will share their experience and stories about how the condition is shaping patients’ lives and their communities. The broadcast will be in English with live translations available in French, Portuguese, Spanish and Arabic.

The goal of the broadcast will be to educate viewers about the global impact of sickle cell disease, which affects approximately 300 million people worldwide, and to help increase public knowledge and raise awareness of sickle cell disease and the struggles patients and their families go through every day. The genetic disease disproportionately affect people of African ancestry, but is also seen in people on the Indian subcontinent and those of Middle Eastern ancestry.
