    • Hey Shakirah, start hydrating like you’re a camel! Drink, drink, drink, and take some pain meds if you are feeling pain. Try to avoid stress, and sleep for a few hours extra. This is what sometimes helps me to curtail a crises. Sometimes, nothing you can do will hold back the tide though; and you just have to ride it out. I hope you feel better soon. 1. Plenty of water as mentioned, but also dont forget to breathe.

I found that often my lack of deep breathing added to the problem. Im not on FB but feel free to reach me at t3arrivals@yahoo.co.uk. Im sure you’ll find plenty of support from the FB group.

  2. Drink lots of water. I have SCD but fortunately for me, i have pain like twice a year and i don”t need to visit the hospital, i just pop a pill and the pain goes in a few minutes. I haven’t been to the hospital in like 5yrs. However, i suffer from malaria a lot as i live in Africa and i do have jaundice all the time. These are my major SCD challanges.
