Happy New Year!!!
Hello to all my Sickle Cell Warriors!
Happy New Year my wonderful SCW family!
I just wanted to wish each and everyone of you a happy and blessed New Year. We went through a lot of illness, changes, and challenges in 2010; but the beauty of a New Year is that we can leave all those behind and look to the future with promise.
So many warriors both in our SCW family and in the world have ended their journey and moved on to the next phase of life. I know that some families are still grieving, and although it is a difficult time, please remember that your wonderful warrior no longer has to live a life of pain, and will be remembered as a vibrant, wonderful spirit that is always with you.
To all the new members of the forum (especially those that haven’t said a word—you know who you are!), pop in the join in the conversation in this new year. As of the moment I’m writing this, we are 2300 strong, and there is so much we can learn from each other, and so much support we can give each other. Your experience and story can inspire or educate someone else…and your voice is important. So join in any open topic, or post a question, comment or advice of your own.
As a little incentive, please make it a plan to submit your entry for the Warriors in the Spotlight this year. Your story will be featured on the Sickle Cell Warriors website and will inspire someone else. To participate, answer the questions at

There is also the Sickle Cell Warrior Youtube Channel at http://youtube.com/sicklecellwarrior, and although it only has a few videos, let’s have a conversation on there this year as well. For warriors with Youtube channels, subscribe, and post your own videos. Be sure to tag Sickle Cell warrior or link back so I can watch your vids.
